Stem or no stem? That is the question!

This year (2009) at the Apex Show in Halifax, I was convinced to explore the option of selling stemless glassware in the winery boutique. I was skeptical! I was not sure it was something that we believed in - serving our wines in a glass with no stem after years of teaching people to hold their glasses by the stem so as not to disturb the bouquet. We ordered stemless glassware and it sells like crazy, people love it. Now we want to know: Does your wine glass have a stem or not? Which do you prefer? Do you feel it affects the bouquet and flavor of the wine? Check out your options at http://www.riedel.com/

  1. We're like stemmed glasses. There's a tradition and elegance to stems that we like and that fits nicely into our dining room at DesBarres Manor Inn. So for now, we're sticking with tradition for our glassware!
